iRV2 National Rally...out west in '18

Feeling like a bunch of my fellow Renegade owners are from the western part of the U.S., I wanted to mention that the 2018 International Rally for iRV2 members will be in Pahrump, NV in September of next year...

While I am returning to the RV world after about a seven year hiatus, at one time I was involved in the ownership of this site and can attest to the good times that are had at the International Rallies. I was the wagonmaster of the '07 International in Branson and I can tell you a crap ton of work goes into planning and there are usually RV seminars in addition to the entertainment schedule....

I've made many friends from this website over the years and it'd be neat to have the chance to meet some of you westerners as well...Who knows, maybe we could have a whole row of Renegades.... LOL!!!

I've included the link to the International below.... Give it a look and see what you think.

That sounded like a good idea...For the record, they aren't sure if they accept truck conversions and they do not accept RV's over 10 years old. However, they told me that I may send photos, and they will review them to let me know if my rig is accepted. I've got a special list for resorts like that, and its isn't a wish list.

Whoa.... I can assure you that, as a member of the iRV2 rally your truck conversion would be welcomed.... It's part of what makes iRV2 an awesome web group....I do understand where you are coming from, with regard to the "exclusion" factor of those resorts like Pelican Lakes and so forth that have standing rules against "Super C's" and yes, if I were just visiting this resort on my own and received this treatment, I'd be pissed.....

Having said that, these rallies are a boat load of good times and good fun.
I'd encourage you not to rule it out.

Bob

Thank you very much for bringing this up initially, and for giving a hoot what I think about it.

Having been a small business owner, I believe that a company should be free to do business with whomever they wish. When that business's policies prohibit doing business with me, or folks with whom I feel a kinship, that is fine too. I usually just note it and move on.

I should have kept my mouth shut (or my fingers away from the keyboard.) Unfortunately, I felt as though IRV2 was so welcoming to all and judgmental towards none (pet peeve marathons aside) that perhaps the powers that be were unaware that an RVer in a vintage fixer upper or truck conversion may be turned away from a forum sponsored event. I was incorrect.

Thanks again.

IRv2 was founded almost twenty years ago by my good friend Bill Rowell.
I came on board several years later and I can assure you that this website has NEVER been about "keeping your mouth shut" or being afraid to make a comment or ask a question...

I have made SEVERAL life long friends as a result of both RV'ing and this website in particular and many of those friendships were kindled by attending the local "region" gatherings found elsewhere down the main page. Now that I've gotten back into rv'ing, I'll again be meeting up with some of my old Newmar friends this winter in Fort Myers, for instance..

As you may have noticed, I reached out publicly and by way of a PM to Driver, and he has just posted that he will personally call and get an answer.

Never be inclined to "keep your mouth shut" on this forum... if nothing else, we'll all laugh about it later.

I wanted to bump this thread for the benefit of those of you who are long range planners, as these rallies are a lot of fun.... As I've said previously, I've even made some long time friends from rallies such as this.

Also, the Super C issue has been investigated and ALL are welcome.

We're planning on making this part of our schedule for next year and knowing that there's a LARGE contingent of Super C folks on the western side of the U.S., I'd love to have the chance to meet you.

Mike Pelchat aka "Driver" does an awesome job of planning these rallies and I know he's working hard to make next year's rally a lot of fun.

Looks like fun. Penny and I have it penciled in for September. Should know for sure by spring when the official invitations and signups are released in the spring.

You're welcome to her, but the payment book comes with her...

A funny story comes to mind... We've been together for a little over five years now and when we first started dating, we were riding in the truck one day and she said something, to which I made the statement jokingly "Dang girl, you're high maintenance, aren't you".

With a smile on her face, she reached over and took my hand and said... "Honey, I never said I wasn't."

And she hasn't changed a bit in five years.

80 year old gentleman was asked the hypothetical question.

Your on a desert island.
Your boat is broken
You have enough food and water for 2 people for 6 months
You have a two person jet ski with enough fuel to MAYBE reach civilization
There are 4 people. You, A gorgeous Redhead, a beautiful Blond and a bombshell brunette.

The question is.... Which one of the 3 stay with you?

The older gentleman answers without hesitation.... "Whichever one knows how to fix the boat"

I'm still trying to convince the wife that she should be the one to wash the coach

I know that, if any of you guys are like us, that we try and "plan out" our RV season trips as best as possible..... I'd imagine that a lot of you will be winding down in September of next year, but I wanted to put this topic back out there and get some of you "westerners" thinking about it.
As I posted previously, the "powers to be" of iRV2 have made the decision that the 2018 International Rally for iRV2 members will be in Pahrump, NV in September of next year...

The better half and I have this rally penciled in and I'd love to put some faces with names at the rally..... Well, there's a chance that Frank might be there, but I'll take my chances.

Give it some thought and add it to your calendar.... I'm sure that sometime after the first of the year they'll have a bunch more details as well.

National Rally

My wife and I are coming from Ks. Look forward attending. We have made our reservations at the host park. Told them we have a Super C Verona. The accepted our reservation now just need to register for the rally. Hope to hook up with other Super C people. See you there.

While it irritates the heck out of me when I can not make a reservation at a nice RV resort because I happen to own a Super C. There is another side that I was not aware of. It is not the rule of the resort to not allow C's but the resorts planning board permitting determined by the individual cities/towns requires them to limit their resorts to a specific class of RV's. The resorts hands are totally tied and could be ordered to close if they were to break the rules that were tied to the permitting. Our argument should be with city hall not the resort itself.

While this may indeed be the case in some municipalities, I have firsthand knowledge of several Florida RV resorts who specifically restrict their visitors to those owning Class A type coaches.
One such resort advertises on it's website that, if it has a hood it's not a class A.

Oh well!!
