Renegade Verona AGS Question

I have a new Verona. One of the two main options for triggering the AGS on the panel where you activate the auto gen start is "HVAC Load". I'm trying to understand what that options does. I can't find any description in the literature provided with the coach.

I added the Magna Sine BMK (battery monitor kit) to measure current draw and battery SOC accurately. I then upgraded my RC panel to the ARC panel. With the ARC and BMK you can set the AGS to start at a specific battery SOC and then run until the batteries achieve another specific SOC. In my case the AGS kicks in when the batteries drop to 60% and charges them back to 100%. Gives me peace of mind that the batteries are maintained properly.

I emailed Renegade with my question and was advised if the HVAC load option is selected and the A/C thermostat is calling for cooling the generator will auto start if the coach looses 120 volt power. Great protection for our pets out here in Arizona if we loose power on a 100+ degree day while we are away from the coach.

There are some great YouTube videos that explain the features of the Magnum remote and AGS. Here is a link to one that I found very helpful. The videos are short but informative and things are explained in layman’s terms.

My 2019 has the Magnum Me-Mr remote which is different from the Me-RC50 shown in those videos. The big difference is the gen auto start is controlled from the seven inch Firefly Lyra multiplex touch screen which displays all the generator settings on one screen at the same time. The Me-Mr remote is mostly just for the inverter settings and charging status.

If I understand correctly, there is an AGS for battery SOC and there is an AGS for HVAC load. Is there a way to use these AGS settings only during specific times during a day? I’m thinking here about limiting AGS to respect campground “quiet hours” rules.

Yes, there is a scheduling feature that allows you to set times for operation or no operation
