Thanks Grassy, my wife passed away awhile back so it's just me and my dog now. We will do a lot of traveling and if it's too small I'll get a bigger one. This is my first rv so I have many things to learn, this forum is very helpful for a newbie. Seems like a lot of good people willing to help!😆

So sorry to hear that.

We started off with a pop up..I think your start is great. No matter what you own, compromise seems to be ever present. Parts for these trucks are everywhere..

I am assuming you will be heading south for the winter...you are still in the snow belt ?

I am with my son and his wife in Dallas, I came down to help out 3 months ago. She has some problems with her pregnancy but her and the baby are fine. Her due date is in 2 weeks so after the birth I'll head home to Illinois. Then for the holidays head back down with my rig then off to Florida for the winter. I'll have 2 1/2 months to get it ready. I'll just be pulling my car so it should do ok.

Grassy,
Do you spend the winter in the south?

Not yet...just waiting for the dw to retire. I bought our truck as a bit of a fixer upper with the thought that I would have it to where I wanted it before we ship south...not this winter but I think next. We have taken it on 2 - 5K mil runs and we are close. Installing a stereo next week.

BTW, do you have a 5th hitch on back ?

Yes I do but don't plan on using it. I'll just pull a toad for now. I almost bought a truck like yours in Kansas when I toured the facility at New Horizons. Great tour, nice people and beautiful 5th wheels. I called the next day to go ahead and buy it but it was spoken for 30 minutes earlier! I found the one I bought in northern Indiana and got a good deal (maybe haha). This will be OK for just me this winter and I'll have a chance to get it in tip top shape before I sell it next year. If I like this lifestyle I will sell my home in Illinois and get a bigger truck conversion. I may find a piece of land between where my kids live (Dallas and Dothan Alabama) but not for sure yet.

Trying to figure where to live is a tough one..we are going through that process now.

BTW, I quite like you rig and have passed pics to my friends that are still in the thinking stage.

Pls keep us up to date on how you like it, etc..

I'll be home soon Grassy, the vinyl will be off and should be buffed and waxed so I'll post some new pics. I have been researching the items I will/should have before I head south, they are TST tpms, Progressive Industries electrical management system and a Rhino flex sewer hose kit. I did just order a Milton s986 tire guage, what else should I not leave home without except $$$$ of course?
