Sport Deck

Need some info on sport decks, likes and dislikes? I bought a 2007 Renegade 14' box on a Freightliner chassis with a Cat C7 350. This is my first and bought it at a good price. I'll travel in it for a year then will sell and get a larger TC. Anything else I need to check or keep an eye on? 42k miles.

I'd contact the Freightliner free help line and get wiring diagrams and schematic for your chassis. For trucks & motor home chassis with Cat engines you may have an inline fuse for the engine ECM memory, and not knowing that the fuse is inline rather that in the chassis fuse box has left many a Cat/Freightliner owner stranded, and at the mercy of tow truck and shop operators.

1-800-385-4357 have your serial number handy , and ask about joining : Access Freightliner. Takes a while but you get access to parts & other, info about your truck.

Be nice if you post a pic... I have an older sport chassis but haven't had any issues with fuses...knock on wood.

What is a TC ? And why do you need to upgrade..the freightliner not powerful enough ?

I will get some pics in 3 weeks, it's at home in Illinois and I'm in Texas. It has a 14 foot box and may be a little small for me. I will be spending the winter in it in Florida and I will see.

I believe they classify it as a truck conversion? Not sure why.

I just got it and the guy I bought it off of pulled a good size trailer and said it did just fine for him. Others have said the C7 is under powered but I'll just be pulling a toad so should be fine.

Cool. We like pics of trucks

Is it registered as a rv or mh ?

The hp of the c7 is :
210-230 hp @ 2500 rpm
230-300 hp @ 2400 rpm
520-860 lb-ft @1440 rpm Peak Torq

Is this a standard, auto (Allison) or auto shift like an Eaton ?

I have an older cat..a 3126b and the last guy towed @ 23K pounds with it..I have 300hp/800 torque.

You are going to enjoy this....

That's a sweet Truck! I don't have any good pictures until I get back home in a few weeks but will post more then. The guy I bought it off of had a vinyl wrap put on for his buisness and I have a guy taking it off while I'm gone and buffing it out. I'll try to post a few picks of the inside.
