I need help of what the map sensor function in the air intake system or the engine as a whole.

It works with controlling the fuel to air mixture of the engine. Something like a carburator

The MAP sensor is the Manifold Absolute Pressure ,better known as a vacuum gauge.It affects the timing,and help the engine to know how much load the engine is in,so the computer can make the adjustments.What kind of problems are you having?
