97 Intl 4700LP Rubber Shock for Softer Ride on Front Springs
Anyone have this system? Got any knowledge on it?
The front suspension is definitely some sort of aftermarket soft-ride rubber mount system for the rear of the front axle leaf springs. Instead of the usual shackle with a bolt through the frame and a bolt through the spring hole, this massive plate is installed with a large rubber "shock" on a vertical platform. It's like a motor mount, only vertical. One of the rubber shock mounts was torn in half during the accident, and I need to replace it. If any of you know who makes it and where I can get replacement parts, that would be cool. I'm rebuilding a 5th wheel hauler. You can see all about the project here in the thread "Hello From Reno NV"
THANKS!

Just got some pics of the soft ride spring hanger today...
Here they are. You'll notice that one side has a broken rubber mount. The cage is pushed over about 2 inches from the wreck. I'm trying to find out who makes it and if they're really worth it, softer ride, more compliant ride when towing, less sway, etc... if not, I'm putting the stock hangers and shackles back on the truck. It appears that the springs are special, too. Only 2 leafs. I think the stock setup is multi-leaf, like 5 - 7 springs. This thing looks like a poor man's air suspension. Lighter weight? Trying to see how much parts are, or how much a whole setup costs. It really hangs low, about 4 inches off the ground. I don't like that too much on a 4700 Low Profile. Educate me please. I have no experience with these fancy contraptions. Thanks!

grassy be sure to give us an up date on your spring removal and how it rides, our trucks are pretty close, give us a breakdown as to how many leafs before and after so I can count mine for compassion

MorRyde setup?
The rubber is not a shock, it's a spring. If you want to be technically correct.

Thanks Tim! That looks like it for sure.
I'll have to find out more data on MohrRide (sp). Yes, it's a shock/spring/big motor mount/big hunk of hard rubber. Mine's broken and the mount cage is bent, so, looking for another one, or parts, etc... If you have any more info, that would be great to see. Thanks!

I was in yesterday but the guru was slammed so no chance to talk however, they gave me their unpublished e-mail addy and wanted details and pics. That should go off today. I shall keep you posted.
The moreride isn't made for our trucks ..it goes up to a Chevy / ford class 5...maybe it could be adapted... ?

MORryde International, RV Suspensions, TV Mounts, Sliding Trays
They exist (and have for many decades). People report them having very good customer service.
The setup in the image above is their " RL suspension". They only list a few current applications, all rear suspensions. No idea if they used to offer it for front applications, or if someone cobbled it onto yours,or???

Thanks Grassy. It's on my International 4700 and looks like it was meant for it. Everything bolts up to existing frame holes and is a clean mount. It does sit very low, under the oil pan with only 3 -4 inches clearance on a Low Profile.

They're showing a dead axle with single or duals. I can see it working on both the front or rear. They say they do custom builds, which this one probably was, perhaps for Western Hauler who may have adapted this chassis to a 5th wheel hauler. I'm back to my shop next week, and I'll tear it down and start straightening it up and order a rubber shear spring/shock/motor mount pad and put it back together. We'll see how well it works.
Thanks Tim!

Tim,
My e-mail went off yesterday with pictures. Today and Monday are Easter holidays so I suspect I may not hear back until Tuesday or Wednesday.
On a side note, I am on the hunt for new tires. A company I met with suggested a smaller width / higher ratio tire.. I asked the spring company about this as well.
I shall keep you updated.
