Judging from the section this is posted in Conversions MDT HDT, the OP is talking about the freightliner FL60 (its a Medium duty truck MDT)

Looking for a tow rig for our soon to own 21000lb 5th wheel. One of the rigs at the top of our list is a 2002 fl60 with 300hp 3126E.

Mine is a '01 fl60 sport chassis with a 300 hp cat 3126 as well...

There doesn't seem to be a active MDT forum anywhere..

A 21k lb trailer behind you with that truck, is gonna make you an unhappy camper. It's just simply not enough power and torque, to live up to your expectations. A slight headwind is gonna send that tranny on a gear huntin trip. The slightest incline is gonna slow you down,...and a 5 or 6% grade is gonna have you down to 35 mph or less. From experience, with the same truck,...an '04 with a 300hp C6 Cat, the headwind wasn't really an issue with a 16k lb toyhauler. 6% grades did slow me down though. Some even had me down to 35-40 mph. At that point, the overall performance is why many people have moved up to an HDT.

You asked a question and I gave a answer.
I really don't care if you didn't like my answer. Or that you have a personal problem with that bunch.

I have nothing to do with that MDT form and don't personally know any of the MDT owners on that forum.

Maybe it is best that you start your own MDT forum on Yahoo and you can pick who you allow in your group or keep out.

Good Luck

Yes, I have thought of that..but on the road too much...

Regardless of whether you liked the answer or not, heads up should be given to those folks who wonder over there expecting something different...
