I have a three axle trailer and the truck only has a brake controler for a tandem axle. What type of controler would you suggest I buy. The truck has air brakes.

The trailer almost surely has an electric brakes, so you need an electric brake controller. That is activated by the brake pedal and is independent of the truck air brakes.
My choice would be a Tekonsha Prodigy. In my opinion it is just about the best trailer brake controller on the market today.
