Filling the rad...

This shouldn't be a question .. but after reading the manual , it is

My manual says " fill to the level of the bottom of the surge tank fill neck'.

I obviously don't speak Freightliner.

My interpretation is this:
It's a lot like 6 volt or 12 volt batteries. You fill them with water up to the bottom of the fill hole. No more and no less. Just up to the bottom of the fill hole.

So I would place the correct antifreeze in the surge tank and fill the surge tank until the liquid reaches the bottom of the fill tube.

To answer your question, I don't know unless I could look inside the fill spout and see where the bottom of it is.

Now, is that as clear as mud or what??? It sure would have been easier if they placed a big arrow on the container and indicated "Fill to Here".

I think the fill line is the glass sight, at least that's where my mechanic refilled mine after I had my radiator worked on, grassy did you see my post with my phone number on it ?

ok just checked mine and it was a little low so I topped it off till the site glass was showing the red color of the CAT approved anti freeze and that's about 3/4 full
