Grinding noise 3rd gear.

My Freightliner Mercedes has some kind of grinding noise in third gear when I let up on the gas. Sounds like a bearing, but I don't know. This is the Auto transmission paddle shifter. Anyone had this before?

Any abnormal noise is not good especially coming from the transmission. There is the possibility that the vibrations when in that gear are causing a harmonic noise from another source.

I would get it checked ASAP.

took it to Rush Peterbuilt today and they said it sounds normal to them. So, I'll take there word for it. We went for a test drive and they did hear the sound.
