roof not cut down yet

This rig is 4" to tall to fit in my home garage, I'm going to cut it down a foot, add an attic for a queen bed, put a tread plate deck down, fabricate flip up aluminum hand railings, install a offshore marine hatch, and put in a recessed care free Mirage awning that is flush with the side when closed so it doesn't get damaged.

It seems like making the garage taller would be easier

3000 square foot garage with a 13'6" ceiling

I am over max height for building codes by 14" and can't raise the roof or fit a garage door any tighter to the ceiling if I were to put a steel beam in place of the glue lam header over the door. I only need to drill out 200 rivets, and the roof pops right off, that is the joy of riveted aluminum bodies, they can be modified, repaired, and the repairs are not detectable. I have repaired quite a few box trucks that hit low bridges, some peeled back 6 feet, just drill out the rivets, replace damaged studs, side skins, buck the rivets, a bead of Sikaflex 221 and you can only tell by the shinier side panels, and un oxidized new rivets in 6 months, repair is absolutely undetectable. I knew from the start when I bought the truck I was going to put an attic in it and double the trusses and deck it with tread plate, I didn't think it was 13'3" tall with the air bags not dumped.
