I should have mentioned that one significant difference between my experience and yours is that I never got a rise in engine coolant temps. Mine runs right at 195 and will warm up to about 215 when climbing a large hill during hot summer temps. My mechanic told me that is normal.

Oh, and one more thing. I also had a worn out gasket at the coolant reservoir and thought this was the culprit of my losing coolant but replacing the gasket prior to the engine overhaul caused no improvement.

Went into the shop today ( WWWilliams ) , internal coolant restriction, so far they think it's the Radiator plunged.( 1,070.00 charge to find out ! ) will know for sure tonight.

Follow up , I pulled out of WWWilliams, saw $$$ coming. Paid bill for 335.00 for their labor, to tell me very little after all day in shop. Told us to get motel for 3 days or more!

Went to an independent shop this morning, in three hours, and me watching , they found air cleaner cartage needed replacing, broken wire on electronic hydraulic system that controls fan. Seems fan was coming on full volume , cycling, pulling down engine 300 RPMs under full pressure load. They soldered wire, now I am running 185 to 197 . I have more power, less noise at fan, fan coming on does not effect engine RPMs .....so far alls good just drove to campground about 30 miles, temp averaged 190 , it's a cool day here in Vegas.
