Short answer to the question is yes. Any bus conversion will be more expensive to maintain than a production motor home. This is true for a Prevost, for an MCI, and for a GM bus chassis. They were designed to be maintained by a trained crew at a bus terminal, and as such many more maintenance points are built in. Even something as simple as greasing the chassis - you'll find many more Zerk fittings on a bus chassis than a motor home chassis. Owning a bus conversion is not for the faint of heart, or for the faint of budget. We have a 1974 GM conversion which is far more simple than a Prevost, and our maintenance costs are much higher than a comparable motor home would be.
