Well its been awhile but back looking at a bus. Found a nice looking 1967 GM 4107. Was use in Arizona most of its life and was converted over in 1986. Was a manual but the previous had it converted over to a Auto trans. It has all new tires with new wheels, interior has been redone, engine was said to have been rebuilt.. can pick it up for 9500.00 Want to know, it has no fuel gauge, Can one be installed or will it have to be the old dip stick method

I don't know much about bus' but a long way back I helped rebuild the 8V71 in an old church bus.

My point is that when we pulled the motor, there were a lot of cracks in the engine support and attachment points. The owner needed to hire a welder to re-do almost all of the welds. Of course it was easy with the engine out.

Just something to lookout for.

Thanks, will look at the motor mounts and etc. Very good idea. A lot of time a guy over looks things like that because under that shinny paint and metal, it can be hiding a lot of problems.
