California registration as a motor coach

For those of you who live in California and, are thinking about buying an HDT, here is a solution to your registration concerns.

My recently acquired HDT was registered, as a commercial truck, outside the State of California. I had two options to register the HDT in California, as a motor coach. I could do it myself or I could pay someone to do it for me. Since I did not want to deal with DMV and, I was not well versed in both State and Federal laws, pertaining to the definition of a motor coach, I opted to hire someone else to do it for me.

The company that I used was:

Bracken Tax & License
1155 S. Milliken Ave
Ontario, CA 91761
909 390 0035
909 390 0024

The person who actually handled the registration process was:

Teresa Hyde

All communications with Teresa were done by telephone, email and/or FedEx.
Because Bracken is about an hourís drive from my work, I picked up the plates and the registration from Teresa (as opposed to having her mail them to me ).

Teresa did a wonderful job. She quickly responded to my questions. She observed a document error (wrong VIN on a document supplied to me by the seller). She observed that the insurance card that I sent to her did not have the VIN on it.

I would certainly use Teresa and Bracken again. BTW. I have no monetary interest in this company and, have nothing to gain by posting this information. I am only posting this information to help other newbies, like me, to deal with the motor coach registration issue.
