Here are links to a couple of web sites I stumbled across related to converting class 8 HDTs to RV tow vehicles.
Jack and Danielle Mayer have this site, which has a wealth of information about their converted truck.
http://jmayer6.tripod.com/index.html
The truck discussed on the above site was converted by Larry Ziegler. His site is:
http://onezman.tripod.com/index.html
Larry also sells a book of information on how to do your own HDT conversion. Larry mentiones prices ranging from #30,000 - $52,000. Not that much different from a 1-ton dually pickup.

Here is a great source for anyone wanting information on HDT or MDT . This information has been contributed by our gang for over two years now and thanks to Jon's efforts it can be accessed very easy.

Greetings All,
The National HDT Rally for 2008 will have seminars on the issues of building your own bed, singling out a truck and a variety of other things. Registration won't open for a while yet, but the date and location have been set as Oct. 4-11, 2008 in Hutchinson, KS.
Last year, there were over 60 rigs from around the country.
There are several blog websites from guys who have done just what you're looking for.
