I took my mh to a mich tire dealer to see if they were ok for 1 or 2 mre years. He said they looked ok except for a few cracks on the sidewall. He took pic and sent to reg mgr and the next thing I know is Im getting 6 new xze's for half price. My hopes was for 1 or 2 more years on these tires but I ended up with 6 new tires. So as far as Im concerned there are still some mfg's that will go out of there way to make a cust happy. BTW mich didnt know this but I always buy mich on my personal veh and this is one of the reasons. P.S. The tire dealer was having alittle tbl bal the new tires so he put equal in there and so far it seems to be ok. Does anyone have any pros or cons about equal? Safe travels

Who/where is this dealer, & what was the cost for six (1/2 of what)? Are they 235/80R22.5 LRG?

jdsr;

I had some problems three years ago with good balance. My dealer took all the weights off and installed Equal. I was very happy with it.

This spring I installed 6 new XZEs and again installed Equal. It is necessary to install special valve cores or you will be a very unhappy camper.

Last week I had one new Michelin installed on the front of the MH. The shop could not balance the tire because they did not have the equipment. They could not put equal in the tire because they did not have the valve stem. So, I left the shop in Shelton, WA and headed for Arizona with an unbalanced tire. To be real honest, I can't tell the difference.

Bob, wa7hra

PS: The tire was $420 including mounting and taxes.

Thudman </div></BLOCKQUOTE>The dealer is in Chas, S.C. The tires are 235/80r22.5 XZE'S and are load range G. The price was 360.00 per tire and I paid half of that. I had to pay for mounting and bal but I was more than willing to pay for that.

Don </div></BLOCKQUOTE> They seem to run good with equal. The dealer installed 6 filtered valve stems that came with the equal and a yellow marker to show there was equal in the tires. I also had them install 2 long solid valve stems for the back,inner duels so I could get rid of the braided valve extensions.

jdsr: Thx for price info; man you got a good deal! I'm looking at about 420/tire, out the door (bal, stems, tax, etc). Did you have problems w/the braided extensions? I've had them for six years & no problems.

Thudman </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I think when you add 18.00 per tire to mount and dis, and 7.50 per tire to bal and 89.00 tax, I think It's about what others are paying. Dont get me wrong, Im not complaining about any charges( I was more than happy with the 50% discount per tire) just letting you know the total price. Like I said Mich has been and will cont to be my tire company. Oops forgot to add that I didnt have any problems with the braided ext but the tire dealer had long ones there and I kinda liked those better.

Michelin supported the Workhorse Chassis Motorhome Club Rally in Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed having them participate.
