How is it possible to not waste fuel after filling up at the pump? The following are 10 tips to save:

Make sure the gas cap clicks three times. Every year, Americans let 147 million gallons of fuel vaporize.

Gas up during the coolest part of the day. You get more liquid because the gas is more dense.

Remove bike racks or cargo carriers from the roof. Roof carriers can cut your mileage by 10 percent.

Empty your trunk of everything but the spare tire.

Keep tires properly inflated.

Roll up your windows, especially at high speeds. The wind resistance can hurt your mileage as much as the air conditioner.

Use cruise control and drive the speed limit. That can save you as much as 11 percent.

Turn off the car when picking up the kids. Starting the car uses less gas than idling.

Plan your day efficiently so you make fewer trips. Fewer trips means less gas and more money in your pocketbook.

Can add a 10th tip???

Remove the 1000 lbs of stuff that "we just may need this maybe" and leave it at home.

Tom N, I think "I" can get better MPG without
using the CC!! As I let the speed drop back
on the HILLS, whereas the CC will try to maintain. But this may not work for ever-
one?? TENN.

<LI> Check and keep your air filter as clean as possible. You "will" improve your mileage.

Use the California stop method... If you don't have to don't come to a compleate stop... (Just don't get caught or tell anyone I said it)
