I have driven my MH for 1000 miles so far and with new pads and I still have this scrubbing sound when stopping. Worse after rain, understandable because of the rust during this. But the rotors are kind of grooved a little. The MH stops fine. Just the scrubbing noise drives me crazy. How hard is it to change the rear rotors? I thing you pull the axle, but anything else I need to know? I always do my own brake work on all my cars. Just not on this size of chassis.
Please if one knows anything , reply.....

check for a chassis manual where you had your brakes worked on. then buy one. you can maybe find a manual on line also.

The manuals for your rig were (and I think are) sold by an outfit called Helm. The link goes to Service info for the P series chassis', and I think yours is about 5 down from the top. If that doesn't work, go back to Helminc.com and start from scratch. Good luck.

I bought the manuals for the 1995 P30 I owned a while ago. Invaluable for servicing arcane stuff. Nothing like knowing what you need to do before you start.

Mike - how about Workhorse manuals. Specifically a 2000 P32. The link only listed GM, so I assume HELM does not carry the Workhorse manuals. Thanks.

Workhorse sells those direct. Too bad you don't need the 98 P30 manual, as I have one I'm gunna ebay.

Might be more $$ but I believe it is the only place. FWIW, the 98 P30 manual & my 95 GM P30 manual are practically identical outside of changes in part#'s going to WH's numbering. I believe 97 was the last year of GM P chassis' and 98 started the WH ownership. So a 97 manual for the 2000 P32 should be awfully close, and you might find it on eBay.

If I'm not mistaken, when WH took over they went to the independent front suspention and (much) wider wheel base. I'm not 100% sure the year model they did that, but I know for sure I have the IFS/wider wheel base. I took a look on eBay, and I ordered the classroom manual on 1999-2004 brakes. I know, it's not a service manual, but I figure there ought to be 20 bucks worth of information there. I admit I'm far from an expert on brake systems.

The first model year for Workhorse was 1999, and that year they produced basically the same P-32 product that GM had been making before selling the chassis business to WCC. Then for the 2000 model year, WCC introduced three new GVWR ratings (15, 17, & 18K) for the P-series which included the new "Wide Track" front end with the 82.5" track. The other GVWRs retained the original narrower track.

The W-series chassis was introduced in MY 2001 with GVWRs of 22K and 20K (which is really 20,700 pounds).
