2) 5K, 10K or 15k... Your choice. But, remember the Corvette has been coming from the factory for about 5 years with Mobil 1 installed.

BMW and Mercedes also does factor fills with Synthetics. My 325I BMW has a small 2.5l 6 cylinder yet holds 7 quarts of oil and the factory suggestes the FIRST oil change at 15K.

I pulled a sample once from 7500 miles and it cam back within the viscosity grade and was ok for more use.

I still change at 7500 myself but I dont think I really have to.

I have to tell this oil leak story.
So I bought a WIX filter and the oil.
Pretty dumb, I guess. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
As I have said before "What's wrong with OEM replacement parts?". I always use them and never had a problem!

By OEM can I assume you mean AC??

Do AC filters come with the gasket attached to the filter???

If so maybe the gasket on WIX came off.

The filter that the mechanic installed was a Baldwin and the Baldwin had a separate gasket same as the WIX.

When I had my W22, I used the Amsoil SDF76 oil filter for increased capacity. That along with Amsoil oil made me comfortable to go 6 to 8000 miles between oil changes. The SDF76 filter comes with the gasket attached- I think most filters are that way.
