2001 P32 Brakes Not Returning to Full Position

Hello Forum,

I have a 2001 P32 Workhorse chassis VIN 5B4LP57G813334131.

When I returned home from to lake Sunday, I got out and noticed my brake lights were on. I checked my brake pedal where switch is located and discovered my brake pedal had not fully returned causing my brake light switch to stay engaged. I gently pulled up on pedal and it returned to full position and stayed there.
I believe it must have been partially depressed on trip home as cruise control would not engage. I did not feel any resistance from the brakes during the drive but it may have been slight. No smell from brake pads either.
I'm leaving for a long trip in a couple weeks and now concerned my brakes are unsafe for travel.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Grease the bellcrank for the brake linkage. If it does not have a grease zerk get the kit and instal one. Very common issue on the P32.

Thanks AZ,

Is the brake pedal bell crank linkage inside cab under the dash? Do you have information on who sells the kit you discussed/

Thanks again

The bell crank I am referring is on the linkage under the hood, drivers side.
Go to this website and look under (tech tips) for information and the kit.

I dropped off motorhome at a truck shop and they found the linkages binding slightly due to lack of lubrication. They lubed linkages and problem solved.

Thanks AZ for your accurate information. I will add grease zerks to linkage ASAP.

Happy Trails!!
