Smile 2001 Winne Adventurer P32 Starter

Hi All,
Question. What do you think the "Fair" price is for a starter replacement on a 2001 Adventurer 32V on P32 with 8.1L. Including Parts and labor (in California).

Thanks !

I have observed that there is no fair price for motor home repair. maybe because there is no printed fair labor time book reference like there is for cars.
Except for front end alignment I have done all my own maintenance (130,000 mi) otherwise I would have bought the motor home twice. ( once when new, and again over time from repairs).
This maybe exaggerated, but reflects my observation of repair costs paid by others and my feeling that finds it difficult to pay someone for what I can do with proper documentation and lots of patience, time and coffee.
If one does not want to get dirty, crawl on ones back, get frustrated and scrape knuckles, then one must pay someone else for the aggravation and sometimes physical discomfort, more so than innate talents.

My 2cents says an hour labor at around a hundred bucks including diagnostics. rebuilt starter $60- $90.

The starter should cost $75-$130. Replacement is rather strait-forward, only 2 bolts hold it on, both bolts facing down for easy access. Roll the front end up onto blocks to raise front enough to crawl under. Disconnect battery and have at it. Now if you pay a garage, it's probably a one hour labor charge or so, I'd guess, but it actually takes less time yourself.
