2002 Dutch Star workhorse V8

I am buying a 2002 Dutch Star. The Fuel door has a placard that states not to use ethanol as it will harm soft, plastic and rubber parts. Has anyone had any problems with this? Is there a gas additive to help with this?

The 8.1L engine is designed to burn up to 10% Ethanol. What you might be seeing is DO NOT burn E-85. Back in 02, I'm not sure that we saw a lot of E85 but Flex Fuel vehilces were being driven at that time.
