Just swapped out a bad ignition switch in my 2003 Tiffin 32BA, which was built on a 2002 P32 Workhorse chassis. Evidently they are using a different type of ignition switch than what has been described previously on this forum.
The procedure is actually well described here:
Chevy GMC Truck Blazer Suburban S-10 Ignition switch replacement
Now that I know how to do it, it would have only taken a few minutes to replace. Note carefully that you don't have to remove or unplug the leads at the turn signal stalk. Once you get the distal end of the ignition switch wiring harness unplugged, you will see that the leads to the turn signal etc. are sort of sandwiched in there. Take a picture so you will know how to put it back together.
I used an ignition switch from a 2002 GMC Savanna half ton van, NAPA part KS6185. Had an extra dongle that isn't used (I believe for an antitheft device) but it works fine. $148 (!) One wonders if all GM trucks from that time period used the same ignition switch. If so, ebay might be a good place to find spares.
I'm thinking about wiring in a relay as previously described. There's a wiring diagram of sorts at
Remote Car Starter & Keyless Entry Systems. Looks like pink is still switched power.
