DW and I made a trip last week, on the way up, the cruise control worked as allways, but on the trip home the cruise did not work. The cruise control in on the wiper arm, and was turned on, but when the button was pushed the green cruise light on the dash did not come on and the cruise did not work. Advise on where to start looking?
Thanks
Johnnie

Johnnie, probably the most troublesome cause would be the brake light switch being out of adjustment. Look under foot well area by steering column and you will see it. It is adjustable by screwing it in or out thru the bracket. Make sure the brake pedal arm is depressing the plunger switch when at rest. You can ususally check this condition by just driving the vehicle and engaging the cruise control while holding the brake pedal up with your left foot. Also, check the fuse. You might also check to make sure the brake linkage is not binding or hanging up between the pedal, thru the bell crank mechanism outside, and to the mastercylinder.
If you need them, pictures are available of the switch by doing a search here on this site.

dieselclacker, thanks for the reply, we are going to make a short trip in a couple of weeks, and I will try the pulling up on the brake pedal, I looked at the fuse block, kind of need to a rubber man to get to it, and there are no markings as to which fuse is for what, so with that said, do you know which fuse if for the cruse control? Thanks for yourl help.
Johnnie

Johnnie, the cruise control fuse for your Allegro is located in the outside fusebox under the hood. If you are not familiar with it it is just to the right of the brake master cylinder. It will be a 10 amp fuse (red) and is the third fuse down in the first vertical column of small fuses. A fuse location chart for the box is on the inside of the fuse box cover which must be removed to access the fuses.
While you are checking the fuse would be a good time to check for excessive slack in the brake linkages.
I would take a close look at that switch I mentioned first, as it is really a pretty flimsey mickey mouse mounting used to mount and adjust. It can be easily seen on your motorhome, just to the right of the steering column, above the brake pedal.
I have an Allegro 32 DA on a W-22 chassis.

Thanks DC for helping this owner find the fuse and helping him out!
I Had similar problem with my rig. I remember a bigger fuse something on the order of 20A .... I'll go and find it in the morning and advise what I found.

i replaced the fuse labeled the 20A Stop/Hazard fuse. Row #1 (left) Position #6 (down).
We took a lightning hit last year and this fuse blew out on me 3 or 4 times on the way home. Always wanting to venture into the unknown, I replaced the last of my 20A spares with a 25A fuse. It's been holding ever since. Whatever the problem was it cleared itself because 5A would not make that much of a difference to a short circuit.
On our return trip, I would loose my 4 way flashers, stop lamps and cruise control.
