2004 W2 front right wheel running hot.

2004 W2 front right wheel running hot.

I just had all 4 calipers and lines replaced and the brake fluid flushed. The drama explained below.

The right rear caliper seized and could have done some real damage if I hadn't caught it. The repair shop I ended up at was not my usual mechanic. I had them repair what needed to be done to be able to get back on the road. They also replaced the brake fluid. I had a horrible experience dealing with them couldn't get away soon enough. I hope karma pays the service manager a visit.

On the way home the right front rotor was dragging after heavy braking and pulling to the right when braking normally. The pads were glazed. On the right front caliper one of the pistons was still partially out after it was removed. The repair shop it was at mentioned it being a concern.

I made it to my regular mechanic and had him replace the other 3 calipers and brake lines. He checked the hub oil on the front while he was at it.

On my new TPMS I noticed the right front wheel is still running hot after having all the brake work done. When I got home I put a laser temp gun on the front rotors and the right was 279 and the left front was just over 200*.

I am not sure if its a concern. Not sure if the problem is still brakes. Could glazed pads cause it to run hot? There was no burning brake odor. Could it be the bearings? There is 50,000 miles on it. The hub oil is full.

Im so bummed I just want to go places.

Not from front to rear but the 4 hoses on the calipers were replaced. Are there any rubber hoses elsewhere in the system? I came across a schematic of the brake lines but now cant find it.

The rear differential? If so that one wasn't replaced. I didn't come across a part number for that line. The metal ones I did. Ill have to look around again.

FWIW The rear brakes are running cooler than both of the fronts.

The one that was warmer went up in pressure. I noticed they were off 3-4 psi from each other in the beginning.

Mine start all about the same, but sun side affects them and so does type of pavement.....could you have more weight on the pass side in storage?

Well, as a test, I'd swap front tires side to side and take more readings....

Yeah he did, I had a look too. The other shop did the right rear. It’s been ok.

Reason I suggested moving the fronts was to see or eliminate the tire causing the heat buildup...
