Some coaches were setup so the camera comes on automatically when you put the coach in reverse. I'm not sure, but it seems they would be wired into the reverse switch, the one that turns on your backup lights, in order for this to work. If this is the case on yours, it would seem that some how this got reversed.

Personally I like mine to be on all the time while traveling down the road. Use it to watch the toad, and/or whats' coming up behind me. So my backup monitor is wired directly to the accessory side of the ignition switch. I just turn it on and off with the switch on the monitor if I don't want it on.

Mine is on all the time also, I believe that the camera system is part of the coach systems not the chassis.

Just to note how crazy electrical problems can get: My camera suddenly started "flashing" on and off when I turned on my right turn signal . Not with the left signal. Only happened when the toad was hooked up.... I had recently worked on my toad to MH cable. Not sure which wires were the problem but something must have gotten crushed inside and shorted because the connections were the same. I cut off and reinstalled the problem end and everything went back to normal. BTW I now have a second cable in reserve.
I don't recall for sure but I think my mirror heaters were mimicing the right turn signal and the rear view camera may have also stayed on with the ignition regardless of the on/off switch position (in addition to the flashing issue).

I had a problem with mine coming on when using the turn signal

Problem corrected with installing a new ground wire to the brake light, tail light, and back up lights.

Check for bad ground.

That would be a great reminder to turn off the turn signal!!

On vacation this year a nice trucker reminded me to turn mine off. He said over the CB that I was going to run out of blinker fluid before I got to Florida

I have a Voyager series B/W monitor 3 camera system. It's not listed on the ASA site as being current. I've had problem with it since day one. Finally, after two years, coach manufacturer authorized a whole new system. Mine originally started with intermittent rear camera faults and moved onto the side cameras. Everything was pretty much changed by the dealer after 5 separate visits, but still has problems.

One of the fixes for the rear camera was to install a resistor between the shield and the power feed of the rear camera cable. In order to do this one, the rubber insulation had to be peeled back to expose the multi conductor wires inside. Well, needless to say, this modification wasn't done properly and the fix didn't work even after I repaired their mess.

My Voyager went blank also on a 05 Georgie Boy Landau. Gray then black screen. Pulled the unit could not find anything wrong, ground & fuse good. Downloaded the trouble shooting suggestions. Could find nothing wrong so I thought it was the picture tube or circut board in the monitor. Took it to Camping World they reinstalled the unit said it was working fine. $58.00. Still don't know why but it is working.
