I have a 2006 Itasca Suncruiser, Workhorse 24 chassis, which continually blows a fuse (#9 inside vehicle fuse panel under driver’s side of dash) when the headlights are on, which causes the loss of running lights, dash lights and clearance lights. This seems to happen on rough/bumpy roads and does not happen 100% of the time which makes it tough to diagnose. The front and rear lighting wire harnesses have been eliminated as the cause by the most recent service tech. Thus, I removed the dash cover and “tapped” on the headlight dimmer switch, which also blew the fuse. Thus, I changed the dimmer switch and this corrected the problem for a short time. Most recently the fuse blew once again and I disconnected the wire harness (4 wire) that connects to the dimmer switch. I have driven the vehicle 500 miles and have not had a fuse blow yet (knock on wood), of course with this disconnected I have no dash lights. Additionally, the driver’s map light is continually energized. I installed a 12v switch to isolate this map light issue which I thought was related to the fuse blowing. However, the map light is “hot” even with #9 fuse blown? Questions: a. any suggestions on a solution? b. what are the 4 wire leads into the dimmer wire harness? c. suggestions of a well-qualified master electrical tech for WH/Winnebago close to northwest Indiana? d. Is this a WH or Winnebago wire harness? Thanks and sorry this is so long, but my first post and is very frustrating since I cannot drive the RV in bad weather or at night!!

welcome to the irv2 forum.
check the wiring harness at the bottom of the steering column where the column folds.
some folks have reported that the harness is too tight in this area and some wires get chaffed. the wires may even be chaffed inside the plastic conduit.

Not sure what the problem is however you do know that the dimmer switch has a detent when fully rolled up, it switches the map light on.

Thanks for the input and I am aware that the dimmer in the "on" position should turn on the map light. But my map light was "hot" 24/7, even with the fuse blown that controls the dimmer switch, which is very strange?!

When my tail, clearance and dash lights quit, it turned out to be the ICC switch. It's an 'intermittent off' switch to be like OTR truck drivers, but something else to cause problems.

Don't worry about it, you don't have one.

How do you know that? Its a 2006. Is mine unusual because it has the ICC switch?

My 06 Pace does have one factory installed and operational even if I don't use it.

Not even when you're pretending to be an 18 wheel OTR truck driver, flashing your lights after passing someone?

I never used mine either, that's why , that switch never crossed my mind that, that was why I had no tail, dash, or clearance lights. Cost me $400 to find that and put a relay in my ignition switch, and all they did was disconnect the ICC switch.

I have had 2 Winnebago coaches and have driven a number of others and have written about a number of others as well. In my experience Winnebago Industries does not install ICC switches on their Workhorse powered motorhomes. That's how I know. Max, Yes your Damon must be unusual. ICC switches are not a Workhorse wired option but it could be terminated by the coach builder if they want to include the feature in their coach. If your coach identifies the switch as an ICC switch that would be unusual.

All motorhomes light up clearance lights at the first detent if that's what you are talking about but this feature is not widely known to be an ICC switch but a parking lamp(s) function.

My switch simply has ICC stamped on it and it's the same style switch as the grade brake, utility, cargo box lights etc.
