2007 W24 Level Best leveling system fault

I have a 2007 Itasca Sunrise, W24 chassis. I had a problem with the Auto Park Brake which was completely replaced by the local Workhorse Dealer at a hugh cost. Ever since, I cannot extend the jacks unless the ignition switch is on or engine is running. The system will not work with the key in the accessory position except I can retract but not extend the jacks. I have checked the fuses with a meter and all appear fine.

I am getting the delay tactic from the dealer. They were supposed to call me back one month ago but so far, have not done so. I had them add a after market safety device which stops the park brake from activating while driving. It is a plug and play design, no change in the chassis wiring, so I don't know if this is the problem or not.

Would anybody have any suggestions on what might be causing my problem?

Thanks,

Knightly

That's the way my jacks have always worrked. My HWH Jacks will not have power until I turn the key past the accessory position. All the dash lights come on and the step comes in if it is out. Then I can power on the jacks and deploy them. Good luck.

I have an '07 Newmar on a W25.5 chassis. The engine must be running for jacks to function aboard mine. With the high electrical draw of jack operation, it is probably a good thing to have alternator turning during jacking/leveling.

Thanks for the replies.

Nothing new to add. As stated earlier, my leveling system used to work in the accessory position but since the Auto Park Brake system was replaced, it only works when the key is in the run position.

I have checked all the fuses and every thing checks out. I have no idea what has changed. I am taking my motorhome back to the work horse dealer this week, where the repairs were completed. They have agreed to have one more look at the problem. I will post the results.

Our W22 chassis has always worked that way as well, ignition switch has to be on and parking brake on.

Update:
I took my RV back to the Workhorse Dealer. They disconnected the Plug-in aftermarket safety device which stops the park brake from activating while driving. It is a plug and play design, no change in the chassis wiring. The problem disappeared! My jacks worked again when ignition was in the accessory position. The workhorse mechanic could not explain why. I will contact the manufacturer of the safety device to see if they can explain the glitch.
