I am looking at a new 2008 monaco 33sfs. Our First MH. Reading this forum I wonder if WH has fixed these problem on the 2008 model W22?
1. Brake issues- cracked rotors, Pads wore out at 5000 miles, Pressure in Master Cylinder reservoir.
2. Ignition failure due to overheating
3. IP Cluster Failures.
Are These issue to hard to solve in 4 years? If they are should We Continue to TENT!

These problems are not on all years. I, as do a lot of owners, have not had ANY of the problems you stated. I have over 55,000 miles on my '05 W22. IMHO the Workhorse product is the best on the market and when I get a new MH, it will be on a Workhorse.

I agree with what Richard said, WH is the best chassis and when the times comes, I will get another one. That being said, the IP cluster failed on my W-20 under warranty and was replaced; we went into limp mode twice due to the failure of the # 5 and 7 plugs but that was due to air flow problems caused by the Allegro grill not allowing sufficient air flow into the engine- Tiffin has since changed the grill; Now I have Taylor wires and heat socks and cold air intakes. My brakes failed last year after warranty, so now I brake much more carefully. But, the 8.1 is a great engine and as I said before, when coupled with the Allison tranny, you cannot do better.

I have a 2004 W22 with 39K miles and have had zero problems with the brake/systems or with ignition failures. You must be refering to spark plug wire issues some RV have had (which is an RV design issue, not a Workhorse issue).

Your correct about the IP however, this was a problem.

I previously had a Ford class-A and the W22 stands head & sholders above that.

I would purchase Workhorse again but would look at the UFO.

Well, I'm not sure, I have a 2005 W22 and I'm not overly pleased with the unit considering the premium price charged. It definitely doesn't handle as well as my former F53 Ford chassis, gas mileage similar. I will say the W22 is quieter and smoother and that somewhat offsets the poor handling, but definitely not worth the premium price.

Isn't the GM 8.1 engine being discontinued in 2010?

As far as the engine for the Workhorse chassis, this is correct. We have yet to hear what the gas replacement is from anyone in the know.

Looking at the mechanical components of each, the Allison is clearly a much better choice than the TorqueShift plus the advantage of a 2nd overdrive make a significant improvement for the prospective new owner.

Grade Brake is another significant advantage and on your 2005 unit you may have the 50 degree steering which is better than the competition.

Handling is a virtue on some machines and a challenge on others however the aftermarket takes a stock unit and transforms it in to a great handling machine. If the OEMs spent money on optional suspension components the price for the upgrade would be on the sticker under "shock".

The WCC W25.5 comes stock with a rear track bar.

I have a 06 w22 and I have had cluster problems and was told by workhorse to hang on they are trying some new ones on some rigs to see if they work better! They put my name on a list with other people to call when they get it figured out!

I was just wondering how many different problems are you having since you wrote problem"s".

It already has been posted in this forum that Actia is approaching a software solution. I'm sure we're all anxious to see that update released.

DriVer, do you know if the software solution Actia is working on will be retro-active to older models, like you and I own? Hope so
