Has anyone been sucessful in having their SCANGAUGE ll with the upgrade (X GAUGE, AKA Add-A-Gauge) display the transmission temps, after programing the unit as per instructions.... I like others on this site seem only to display the number 32...... any thoughts out there..?

You might do a search. There has been some discussion on this subject. Because of the inconsistancies of this subject I went with the Aeroforce gauge. It definitely works, and shows the transmission temperature.

I received this message today from Joey with Scan Gauge II. You may want to try entering the codes and let him know your results. I think you have to have the update first but am not sure. Contact him for questions.

I saw the new codes last night, however they are listed under "GM CAN", where as I am using the codes listed under "GM VPM". If my memory is correct when I tried the CAN code for the transmission temp several months ago, I got nothing, not even the steady "32".
Ron, let us know how things work.

Nope, wrong codes for the WCC engine. The code given is for "GM CAN" our WCC products will not read these. Hope SanGauge updates the codes for "GM VPW" in the near future. The ScanGuage II auto defaults to the "VPW" codes, I tried forcing to the CAN codes and nothing read.

Are these codes something that gets programmed into the OBD port? Or is it specifically for the Scan Gage?

M&M I believe the codes allow the ScanGuage to "Read" the information being fed through the OBD port.

Joey, of Linear-Logic, answered my inquiry regarding the transmission codes. Joey asked if I had tried the GM VPW code, which my unit defalts to. I indicated the system indicats a constant "32".
I am under the impression that none of the "GM CAN" codes will work on 8.1L enging, am I correct?
