Is there a way to test the engine fan clutch operation on a 2002 8.1?
We went on a 180-mile run to the Keys and the fan never came on. I have a Scan Gauge and as I remember, the fan would come on at about 204 degrees or so. The engine got as hot as 209 with no fan operation. One time, I stopped to pee, shut down the engine for about 5 minutes. Upon restart, temp went up to 230 (and the dash gauge also started to rise) for about 20 seconds then back down to 204. Any way to check the operation short of going to the dealer?
Thanks, Greg

Thanks Tandw. So that I understand, by disconnecting the electric fans I will be forcing the main fan to come if it is working ?

My Fan kicks in between 204 and 208 and then the temp usually dropps.
