I have a 2003 w-22 8.1

Does anyone have the part number for the larger oil filter and an roundabout amount of oil needed for change?

Thanks in advance

I have the same yr & the 8.1
Wix filter oil 51794 is the larger filter I think it's 2 qt.
I read more than once that 8 qts is what you need with that filter. I was over full with 8qt so I would put in 7qt & start checking it.

I think the stock oil filter is 1/2 quart, though many people use 1 or even 2 quart filters. The fitting is recessed enough that even the 2 quart is fairly well protected. I have only used the 1 quart filters on my 8.1L

As long as the filter does not hang below the pan your good to go. I ran 2 qt filters for the better part of 10 years with no issues.

I use the AC PF932 which allows me a total capacity of 8 qts. Do a search for Omey's website. He has a listing of the proper filters for the 8.1. His website has a wealth of information for anyone with a Workhorse chassis.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter

If that isn't available I'll go with either a WIX or NAPA Gold.
