I have friend that is in the MOUSE HOUSE and had a 8.1 die this morning after 2 min..
And then failed to fire till the third or fourth time, just befor calling HELP!
Have reason to think it is the crank sensor, any input?
I dont think the sensor is something that he or Gary can change, as he is going to
Palatka tomorrow. If he makes it to Palatka can someone recommmend a repair
facility, or will he have better luck in Orlando, still need a recommendation! TENN.

There's not many places between Orlando and Palatka to get service. He is probably better off in Orlando. www.recreationworld.com is an authorized Workhorse service provider in Orlando. There are several others too. Just go into Workhorse website. Can't make any recommendations though. I've only used Turning Wheel in Ocala, which is out of the way.

Turning Wheel also has a shop in Plant City, Fl. if that would be close enough.

My motorhome did the exact same thing. Turned out to be the fuel filter. If it was the crank sensor it would not start at all. Here is the deal. The engine has to have at least 55psi fuel pressure to start. When my filter was plugged it would go to 30psi on the first try, 40psi on the second, then 55 on the third. Have your friend try this. While someone listens to the fuel pump, have your friend turn the key to on (not start) until the fuel pump turns off. Do it several times. Then try to start it. If it starts right up, it's the fuel filter. The several times of cycling the fuel pump should build enough fuel pressure to start.

Fulltimer, I do like the informmation and you may have something there with the pressure.
That said, he called workhorse and they suggested the same, cept I gave him a new WIX gas
filter for christmas and he has 800miles on the new filter. But he could have pump trouble,
or a bad electrical connection somewhere. I will suggest that he try your suggestion when
I talk to him today. Thanks for the input. TENN.

Update on the crank sensor in question. HE has
had no further trouble, and has put over 1K
miles on the 8.1. I suggested that the OBD ll
should be checked for stored faults. But at this
time we will file it under DO-DO HAPPENS! TENN.
