This is where the Silicone Di-Electric gel comes in. Using it will help the plug boots slide on much easier as well as fight off corrosion. The boots certainly pull off much easier the next time and will be less likely damaged.
Not to insult anyone but you aren't by any chance installing the wires backwards are you?

So I ended up using Taylor Extreme plug wires cause I got tired of the cheap generic wires popping off

We have a weekend RV place we frequently like to use and round trip I used to consistently get about 8mpg. After plug & wire replacement I have been getting 9.4mpg!

Thanks for the recommendation!

Your coach looks like mine and I am not getting anywhere near that mileage. Do you have other optional stuff installed like Banks or anything or is that the mileage displayed on the instrument panel?

I don' t have banks.

I have been doing comparisons with the actual fuel used, and the fuel flow/use as logged on a connected app through the engine computer to come up with an estimate that is consistent, and wishfully, accurate.

plug wires

Hi everyone,
I have purchased a newer coach, a 2007 Monaco Monarch, also with a Workhorse W22. After several thousand miles, no sign of the plug wire problem. I took note of the dog house design, from suggestions on IRV2 that it had much more room for air flow. My Infinity was lower and more narrow in design.
Thanks everyone,
Al Edwards

Well, that's one way to solve your problem!

Reading back through the posts I see a lot of people having difficulty getting the plug wires off so they can change them.
Simply cut the old wires off just above the boot and then grasp the boot with a set of pliers. Twist the boot and give it a stout pull. It will come off. You aren't going to use them over anyway so why worry? Once the wires are cut the heat shields slide right off too. Break a plug? So what, you weren't going to save them anyway. Cut off wires and broken plugs don't take anymore room in a trash can than new ones.
