I have had to replace the serpentine belt on my 07 Winnebago Adventurer (W24) twice in the past 10K miles. It splits it into 2 belts! I have looked at the pulleys and idlers and do not see any burs or sharp points that would do this. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance on your inputs.

If this is a grooved belt then may not be properly aligned on the pulleys grooves

Gene, you might take a look at the back of the belt to see if there is any sign of anything that has been rubbing or marking it. Something has to be cutting into the belt for this to happen twice. The belt may be whipping a bit at certain RPM's on one of the longer sections and rubbing on something causing your failure.

Gene, How many miles on the unit? I have found times when the belts where routed incorrectly OEM. Take a close look at the belt path drawing just to make sure the belt is threaded correctly.
I have found a few that where replaced and worked, but something like the AC not working or damage happened to the belts.
Dick.

Also possible that the belt jumps out of the correct grooves after it is installed (which would cause it to split). Can be caused by a bad tensioner allowing it to run too loose or a pulley that is out of alignment.

Good point! Tensioner's Do fail,BTDT. That is why I asked how many miles where on the unit. At times the simple things have eaten me up..

The belt seems to be staying cenered on the on the pullyes but I will check the tensioner And look fot any slapping of the belt or any contact with something else. Will also check therouting of the belt. I have 24K on the MH. If all else fails I think the engine is still under warranty, just hate. To buy fuel for the 250 mile trip to the service center.....
