Thanks. I'm just putting mine back on the road after sitting for 2 years. Since its 13 years old, it seems like it is time to start watching out for that stuff. I'm getting broken exhaust bolts replaced and Banks installed. Of course it makes me wonder if it runs lean, since most of the 32,000 miles were on flat land in the North midwest. It has never seen a super hot day, a mountain, or ever towed anything. It does not make a lot of sense to have broken bolts, unless it has run lean.

Well that's the first time I heard, engines running lean make exhausts bolts break.
Hmmmm, not sure I would even entertain such a statement, if I had a broken exhaust bolt.
Does running lean also make the exhaust bolts rusty?

Just checked my Live function and it will display in grams per second. Thanks.

The hotter it gets, the greater the expansion. If under load, the manifold heats significantly faster than the bolt, you have a problem. This would likely be under a WOT situation, not just cruising along. Lean engines run HOT. Normally under WOT, the engine should go into an enrichment mode. The O2 sensor will stop toggling, and just sit on the rich side. If the ECM does not perceive WOT, it will not go into enrichment mode. I haven't watched this ECM, so I can't say for sure, but I'd be surprised if it was hugely different from its predecessor, which I have programed.
The last bolt that broke off down inside the head did not look particularly rusted away where it broke. Yes, there were other ones that rusted away, but not all that broke rusted.

I am using BlueDriver. Very easy to set up from what I can tell, but have yet to do so. You need the part that plugs into the OBD port (which I already have), but you can download the app and look at for free.

You are using the BlueDriver obd2 adaptor or the BlueDriver app with some other obd adaptor?
Does your smart device and the adaptor communicate via bluetooth or wifi?
Im wanting to get a second obd2 gizmo to supplement the info i already monitor on the ScanGauge 2. The Blue Driver adaptor has very good reviews. I just need to confirm it will communicate via bluetooth.

Quite happy with it and bought one for my brother. If you throw a code it will provide potential fixes from an online data base. There are several videos on its use on YouTube or their website. You can also download the app for free and look at it.

For buses that work in the flatlands at low speed. The torque curve is dropping off fast at 3K rpm. Purpose built for driving on neighborhood roadways. Gobs of torque and low HP. Not practical for a motorhome in the mountains.
