We have 86k on our 2001 Trek 8.1. Still original pump but flush and change dex-cool per maintenance schedule.

105k: replaced pump (was still good). Time was right for removal while working on compressor, bypass hose, belts and tensioner pulleys, radiator-pack-fin flush, and shroud modifications. Water pump seems to be in excellent shape. Dex cool on 3-4 year change and 35/65 mix.

I need to specify, I change the coolant every 5 years or so. I still have the original engine water pump on the engine....

and the upper rad. hose with the goose neck and stat.
I do need to take the back off the new pump to see that
it has the correct number of blades.
Now do I remember the correct number of blades, NO!

What is the part number? Hub height is very important.

The box, with the number went away long ago.
I checked and cross checked the number seven ways
from sunset when I purchased the pump.
The pump did come in a Delco box, course I realize
that does NOT guarantee anything.
Their is a casting # 1589C on the pump, most likely
means nothing as to what it may fit.....coopcolt

Checking my cheat sheet book, I found the # I most
likely used 12558870, Rock Auto $97.00.
Now this was most maybe 4/5 yrs. ago.

Also found 251-693, that may cross to the above #
coopcolt....

Below is my long thread on the correct water pump part number. As an aside, the first pump I bought from RockAuto failed in two months. They would not honor the warranty because they said ACDelco doesn’t list the pump for a Workhorse application. Bought the same pump from Amazon and that one has been fine to date. Kevin’s first pump failed rather quickly as well, and he ended up having Amazon provide a replacement under warranty.

Checked my book again, AC Delco pump # 252-783, with a
NAPA pump # 41036.
Gates pump #88926735.

As I can best remember, they were many pumps/numbers
but we wanted the one with the most vanes, seems to me
we wanted 8 vanes.
Do I remember that from the video from the gentleman
in Somerset, KY............coopcolt
