Dale just gave you all the #s you need, but if you feel like spending extra $$$ and waiting for a long time so you can pick it up at a WCC facility, then of course , call WH

Question I would have is which one is going to last the longest. Seems like the compressor has been a short life item. I had one replace fortunately it was under warranty.

Mine started to grind itself up today just east of Phoenix, 61399 miles. Only 102 so we used the roof air and windshield fans.

We had to do the same thing except we did not have any dash fans!!!! I talked to a friend of mine who mechanics on buses. I guess all the workhorse chassis have had a/c problems.

I'm not sure how the bus mechanic can lead you to believe that all Workhorse Chassis have had air conditioning problems. Given time anyone can have a problem with their dash air including Ford, Freightliner and Spartan owners. It's one of the most over worked systems on a heavy vehicle and its in a constant state of operation when the engine is running regardless if the AC is or or not.

Doesn’t the AC clutch release the compressor when the AC is not in use?

I am not an AC expert but let me offer this, the compressor cycles every so once in a while even if you are not using it and the clutch is in constant tension due to the serpentine belt. That's what I was thinking .... if I'm mistaken ... it can happen. The compressor is more in a constant state of readiness and the AC system is never really OFF.

I wasn't suggesting the the AC compressor is constantly ON but regardless it does get a workout. I'm on my 3rd compressor but it's not due to the fact that anyone of them failed, I was just being a guinea pig.
