ABS Computer Module

My ABS light comes on and stays on. I took the motorhome to a service center and they told me my computer module was bad. They say to replace it would be somewhere around $1000.
I pulled the ABS fuse and took it home. I found a company on the internet that rebuilds ABS modules (ModuleMaster) but I need the manufacturer and the model number to see if it was the kind that could be rebuilt. The motorhome is now 120 miles down the road so I can't crawl under it and look. Does anyone know the make of model of the ABS modules that Workhorse used on their 2003 W22 chassis?
Thanks

What ABS codes did it have? How did they come to the conclusion it is the ABS module? How much diagnostic time did they spend on it? Did they call Workhorse Technical Assistance for verification?

Sorry for so many questions, but I have yet to see an ABS module go "bad" on a WH and would like to help get to the bottom of this for you.

Not sure sure what code it had but they said they hooked a computer to it. When I opted out of having it done right away, they charged me labor for the testing.

Sounds like you need to find a better Workhorse Service Facility to take your coach to

Richard: FWIW, be wary of these outfits that claim to repair ABS components. My Suburban's ABS "pump" was running constantly until I pulled the power fuse to it. That caused 2 idiot lights on dash to illuminate. Annoying.

I found an outfit in Maine online that promised to "rebuild" the valve body and claimed that would fix the problem. After paying to have it removed, shipping and paying over $125.00 to get the rebuilt unit returned to me it worked.....for less than a mile..... from the shop where I paid to get it re-installed.

When I called the rebuilder to let them know their rebuild did not "last", they then wanted me to remove the entire ABS assembly (which makes the truck undrivable) and send it to them so they could decide if the problem was actually with the pump, and not the valve body they rebuilt. They said if it was the pump, they "might" be able to help me find one. SHEESH!!
I decided to stop throwing $$$ at the problem, and have learned to live with the idiot lights on. I don't require a functioning ABS system to drive down here. Ed

I agree with Jon. You need to get a second opinion from a reputable service center.

The ABS module on my 2007 Freightliner chassis was the culprit that caused the ABS light to come on during hot weather. It took me 3 years to convince Freightliner that it was the culprit. As soon as they changed it, the problem went away.

Thanks everyone for the input and suggestions. I haven't made a decision on whether to fix the thing or run without the ABS. I still would like the make and model number of the system so that I can make a better decision. If the cost is really $1000 I'll run without but if several hundred to get it rebuilt I may try that.

If you look at your chassis on "My Workhorse" you should see your ABS unit's serial number. I "think" it is made by Kelsey-Hayes, but you may find the name on the unit under your coach. Ed

When I had my brake recall done, the ABS light continued to stay on. The shop found a defecation ABS relay. It is located in a box above the engine , accessible from the front. Solved the problem
