ABS light on due to frayed wire

Had the ABS light come on a couple of times intermittently then come on and stay on today. Thought it was the sensors so I crawled under to check them. On the front drivers side I noticed some rub marks on the inside of the tire. The rubber brake line and ABS wire rub the tire and the wire was completely frayed. I tried moving it away by hand but it just pops back over there. At most it is an inch from the tire with the wheels straight. I'm guessing it rubs on left turns. There is a bracket on the wheel that I loosened and tried to move the line but it didn't get me much clearance. I'm thinking some sort of spring attached to the frame and the harness to keep it out of the way but allow it to move on turns. I know the ABS works off of resistance but I assume I can just splice the frayed wire with the same gauge and not change the resistance?

INDY: I hoping you've had the brake recall completed, and I'm guessing this problem was created when "they" put it all back together. Regardless, there HAS to be a way to re-align the hose and ABS wire without adding springs or other gadgets. Take another look, or go back to the recall dealer and have them "fix it". Sorry I can't answer your question about "splicing" and resistance. Ed

Does not look like my workhorse bracket. That line and wire should be bolted to the caliper.

ID:	13291I think something happened recently. Had the recall done last December and been to Florida and back plus all over the midwest this summer. It is attached at the caliper but that bracket sort of angles it toward the tire.
