ABS Scan Tool?

Has anyone used a scan tool to read codes on the Workhorse. If so what brand works?

Normal scan tools will not read it... I tried. But, I suspect that a Tech 2 or WH has proprietary software from the ABS supplier that s used at the service centers.

For my scan tool which is a computer program on my laptop, I entered for the vehicle and engine a Chev. 3500 pick up truck with the 8.1L engine. It reads my W22 engine parameters. John 03 Tiffin allegro bay W22, 8.1L

But, does it read and show any ABS codes/info? My bet is no. The ABS system is not part of the standard OBD2 PID Codes per si.

This very similar to the TCM that controls the Allison transmission. My OBD2 Car Code laptop scanner will read and display all the OBD2 protocols (VPW, PWM, ISO, CAN) and the Allison info from the TCM but I don't think it will reset any TCM codes. Any changes to the TCM must be done with Allison software.

Dale, straight from the horses mouth( your buddy Glenn) who I trust as much as you. The TECH 2 must have a J1968 program in it for it to read ABS Codes. I only could find it at a Workhorse dealer ..I tried lots of Chevy and Medium Truck repair facilities. The ABS sensor can be checked with a good mult-meter. A good sensor will read between 1100 and 1300 ohms while a bad sensor will read much less. The sensor does not have to be removed from the wheel. Just disconnect the wires insert a opened paper clip in one terminal (makes it easier to get the probe on) and read the sensors ohms. Straight from our buddy and it worked for me...of course he has the sensors too. Good Miles to all.
