This is a long story..workhorse chassis...there was a buzzing sound on high revs--it turned out to be the compressor clutch...so workhorse center replaced compressor...now there is a popping sound all the time from the top compressor hose with the silver connector..comes on about 5 minutes after starting engine..happens with ac on or off...shut off engine and restart and it goes away but then comes back 5 minutes later--workhorse center contacted workhorse and they are going to check a few things starting with a possible leak of the heater/mixing valve which is leaking into pipe which causes the popping sound...any ideas of what this might be are welcomed

These are the kind of posts that are concerning to me about the Workhorse chassis...too many of these kinds of things IMHO...29 years of Class C RVing on Ford & Chevy chassis and never heard of these problems! And this is basically a brand new coach...

It seems like all the negative is what gets posts on most forums. You do not hear of all the happy campers. No matter what the chassis there will be people with problems, just the way it is. There are far more people with WCC homes with out problems than with, they just do not post. I have over 50,000 miles on my coach with out any major problems. No brake failures, no A/C problems, no overheating or plug wire problems. Still have the same tires. I did just have a brake job done due to normal wear. That is expected with use. A lot of people have never heard of all the problems with RV's in the past because there was not the internet and the ready available instant information. All you can do is gather information and make the choice that you feel is best for you.

Rich, I PMed you (late), thanks for your offer, would like to try to meet up this weekend, your experience can only help.

Believe me, I know that all you hear on the various forums are problems, that's why I do post when a rig exceeds expectations as well...it's just with my recent exposure to WH and the posts on this forum that I've gotten a little jumpy...

I love my workhorse -- I really do...I just want this issue taken care of. This chassis has driven well for me except in extremely heavy wind..and my wife and I like the fact that the doghouse is not so high -- it also provides a great sitting place for the dogs while we drive.

So that's why they call it a doghouse...

Thanks, happy owners...that's what I want to see...

Well, I won't say I have not had some problems with my W-22 based rig but

AC: quit, expansion valve, replaced under warranty at the Damon Factory Service plant 12, no problem

Dash went wonky, Likewise, turns out there is a TSB on both of those.

Brake switch shorted, killing cruise control and ABS.. Took the service center some time to get to it but nature of job is such that he was burning up "Down time" so I was not bothered. Total for repair $0.00, warranty.

Fuel clip recall... service center consultant gave me some bull about taking 2 weeks to get parts from Workhorse,,,, 4 hours later Alan (Workhorse national service manager) placed the part in my hand on his way home from work (Seems I live between office and house) NOW THAT IS SERVICE.. I handed it in at the service center 2 weeks later,, still clipped to Alan's card.

The brake switch was the last item.. For some reason I got real good service from them on that one (Different service consultant mostly)

I found out what is causing the popping sound....the evaporator purge solenoid---this is located just behind AC compressor..Compressor was replaced and apparently first workhorse center touched this solenoid which caused it to pop--does no harm but a workhorse engineer called me today and relayed solution to Coachmen dealer where I am having minor work done. So as not to inconvenience me, workhorse is arranging for work to be done where coach is now. It took a few calls but finally got to a tech who knew his stuff and the symptoms he pointed out were dead on.
