I know there is much on this subject but cant find a complete answer to my specific question. I have an 2004 adventurer w/ Actia IP which went though the 50402-C campaign in May 05. Just this spring my odometer/gear select indication is unreadable and also experienced my engine temp indication drop to "0" with audible warning with an immediate recover to normal op temp. Is this Actia problem different than the 50402 recall? Is there another recall which I may have not received?
Sorry if this is a repeat question...Any info would be greatly appreciated

Dave,
Due to the number of problems with the cluster I have been told that Actia is warranting the cluster for 72 months.
So, you need to contact a Workhorse Service Center and I think they will get it replace. It takes a week 7-10 days to get the cluster and about 5 mins to replace it.

This problem is not associated with the recall.
The recall addressed a misreading of ABS information from the data bus.
Intermittent alarms and drop outs of various functions are thought to be due to a transient voltage spike. Actia has been "working" on the issue since 2004.
In four years my fuel level has dropped to zero and the low fuel alarm has sounded three or four times. It happened to my first IP and also to the replacement one I got when the display on the first one failed.
It sounds like your display is failing and will need to be replaced.
As oemtech said, it might still be handled under warranty.

Im getting dizzy with all the run around...I called a local workhorse service center, they said my IP was out of warrenty and to call workhorse. I called workhorse and must have gotten a hold of a rep who was having a very bad day as he was very short with me...told me he would not deal with me and that I need to go to a workhorse service center. I then called Actia and talked with a very pleasant warrenty rep who indicated since Actia did not conduct my 50402-C campaign that they could not warrent but indicated that they have refurbished for $345+ship (however they will only warrent that for 30 days). She was nice enough to send me an IP exchange form however. Does any have any recommendations other than paying $345 for something I know has been replaced for free on many other RV's? Any other contact info i could try would be greatly appreciated...

I recently has a similar issue with my 2003 Motorhome. I contacted Workhorse and they directed me to my local Workhorse service center for potential resolution. So, with a copy of my e-mail communications with Workhorse, I visited my local center. Fortunately, my service writer knew the drill and immediately contacted his Regional Workhorse representative for approval to replace the out of warranty dash cluster, and surprising to me the representative agreed and all I had to pay was $98 for the removal and replacement of the dash cluster.
The replacement looks better than the original, but time will tell if this really fixes the problems.
My experience might be worth looking into, if you don't have several hundred dollars to throw at a known manufacturing failure.
Best of luck,
Larry

Hi Dave, just have my coach (W24) serviced at Gilchrist Chevrolet in Tacoma for regular maintenance and when they were done, I mentioned in passing to Dave (forgot the last name but he's the service writer for trucks/MH) that I couldn't get any illumination of the "OD Off" when I disengage my OD - he told me to let him know if I'd have that replaced so he can order a replacement (under warranty). It's not that important yet for me, and besides I'll be driving about 90 miles R/T to Tacoma so I told him next service I'll have check it out. I don't know if you're using them or you use Poulsbo RV in Kent but give them a call. They might be able to help you out.

Just ran into this exact same thing. Brand new cluster but my $98.00 was covered by my extended warrantry. Cost me $25.00 deductible.

Thanks crazy...I'll try the email approach. My big problem is not really the money...its the 30 day warranty after spending the money...what kind of warranty is that? Sounds like Actia needs to step up their product so that they are comfortable to offer a real warranty.
