I know this has probably been asked before but how can you tell if your Actia display has the latest software installed? What is the latest software version?

From Actia Manual:

4.2.1. Access to diagnostic menus
On-board diagnostic functions are displayed in the message center. They can be accessed if the vehicle transmission is in PARK or if the vehicle PARK BRAKE is set and the MODE switch is pressed and held for at least 5 seconds. To exit diagnostics, select "EXIT MENU" or turn the vehicle ignition off then back on.

Page down to "Software Version" & read it there.

Thudman thanks for that information. I have checked this out and there is a software version number. What I need to know is what is the most current software version number. Does the software version change when the Actia display was updated?

Driver, we have a 2003 W22. We did have the display replaced within the first year. I believe ours was one of the first ones to go out as the workhorse repair facility did not know what to do about it. It has been working fine since being replaced, but............? As other members have asked when the display goes out again, out of warranty, will it be replaced because of all the on going problems. After all when the display goes so does the mileage readings which would be a violation of law?

I also have a 2003 Workhorse and my IP was replaced about a year after I bought it. The LCD stated going bad about 3 months ago and Actia replaced it again. They extended my warranty for an additional 3 yrs. or 36,000 miles. The software version each time was 101615vo2_39.

Had my display replaced 4 times since new. Last time it was out of warrantee. This was NOT an issue. Was diagnosed by Brazel's and ordered on a Tuesday at the beginning of our trip.

Display was in and ready to be installed three days later on our return from our trip. Mileage was correctly updated and had the newer bright orange display.

It just doesn't get easier!

Stubburn: thanks for giving me the software information. I just checked our and found we have software version 101615 Vo1_39. Does this mean I do not have the updated version, and can expect failures?

The software version that you have in your IP is not indicative of any type of failure that may occur due to firmware version.

IP software versions are not at all similar to versions of Quicken for example. I overheard this past week from one of the speakers in a seminar that if your hardware is working properly at this time that a newer version of software isn't going to improve on that.

Don't let this fact overly concern you. It's not a problem.

DriVer,
Why would WCC introduce a new verision if there are no improvements? What were they referring to as hardware? The ECM or what? I can understand if a new ECM has been introduced that the older ECM's may not be able to utilize all the new code, but what other hardwear is involved?

I was under the impression your software version was relative to the year of the chassis you had.

Mine was reflashed once under recall and now is getting lines thru it. Still readable but bottom of the #'s is gone and other lines thru the middle.
How long do most of you wait before you make the dreaded trips back to a WH svc. cntr. ?
I seem to remember someone saying they got theirs changed out in a half an hr or so and others saying it took weeks to get it fixed or replaced. Does anyone know the easiest , least painful way of getting it fixed? I guess WH wont send someone to my house to change it, would they?
Lots of time and gas wasted going back and forth to the shop ,

Max49, I called Actia as soon as mine started getting lines through it. It only takes 20 to 30 min. to change. They did mine in parking lot of dealer. They will send one to dealer so you don't have to have your rv tied up. Just call Actia warranty at 574-266-2672 and talk to Paul Windbigler. He will need to know your milage so he can put it in before he ships it to you.
