Actuator cylinder repair

Our little operation of replacing seals on leaking actuators is really picking up. Time and temperature all by themselves have made these repairs a guaranteed necessity. Soooo - - keep a wary eye out for signs of weepage or leakage in the general area of the AutoPark actuator cylinder.

What I really wanted to point out however, is that about every fourth cylinder we get has the paint all blistery and soft - - you can wipe it off with a rag. This tells me that people are mistakenly putting BRAKE FLUID into their autopark reservoir instead of the desired Dexron III ATF. The brake fluid is eating up the paint, but more importantly it is leaking out of the cylinder because it has already ruined the seals. Brake fluid just eats the hell out of many types of O rings and seals. Just because AutoPark is a BRAKE SYSTEM, does not mean you use BRAKE FLUID in it. Boo, Hiss.

As always, questions may be directed to oldusedbear11@charter.net
