I have a 2004 Dolphin LX on a W22 chassis. I get a really hard ride and am looking for a solution. I am already looking at Koni FDS shocks. Has anyone added air bags to get a better ride? If so, any idea what I will pay for front and rear installation. I have someone who will install them very reasonable if I order them.

Thanking you in advance.

It's unlikely that air bags will give you a better ride than the Stabil-Ride suspension that you already have. The Koni shock absorbers will help you considerably. Try those first. Bag the air bags.

There are some motorhomes that need air bags but they primarily use those devices to level the motorhome front to back. Only a very few models come standard from the OEM with air bags.

In the aftermarket air bags are not frequently sought after.

When we had only Ford chassis to carry the heavy Newmar coachs ,I had to either add extra springs or on a MountainAire I put on air bags with compressor and valve controls to level coach on chassis.
With the Workhorse chassis I now have with a Newmar wouldn't think of adding anything but the Koni shocks, they would improve the ride and besides will be allot cheaper than a bag system.
Also get your coach weight and use the tire mfg's air pressure tables for correct loads.
Welcome to irv2.

Check out Kelderman Engineering in Iowa. Their website shows air suspension for the chassis that eliminates the springs. What I don't like about the pictures is the bags are too close to the center of the coach from my non-engineer mind. I think the airbags should be as far to the outside as possible.

I have a 2005 SeabreezeXL on a Workhorse Chassis. I got some air bags for the rear at Camping world. They cost $300.00 approx. I installed them. They work well.
