Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket rotors?
I know Hendersons has some and I know they "shouldn't" be necessary but if I am going to replace my calipers (some day) would it be an advantage to "up grade" the stock rotors at the same time?

Try Brake Performance at 1-866-756-5536. They may even have drilled and slotted version.

JCM, IF you were going to invest in anything ... one could make an effective case for a Grade Brake which it is proven by testimony from service center professionals that vehicles so equipped rarely if ever present caliper seizures.

I tried ordering from them but they had no idea of what I needed. They kept talking to their tech and asking how many holes did I have. They just didn't seem to know.

A grade brake won't help me when I am trying to drive through Seattle, Portland or just on the freeway- at a crawl or when an idiot cuts me off. On BC mountain roads - yes - but then I have time to shift down. Also the Bank of dad didn't get any bailout from the government so I have to try and select the most important parts first before luxuries. But thank you for your feedback.

JCM, One could make a case for stock rotors by demonstrating that if the calipers are not subject to sticking and operate properly that conventional rotors are adequate for the task. A drilled and slotted rotor would appear to exceed the stock design parameter requirement by providing additional cooling resources that seem redundant. D&S rotors are seen on high performance vehicles that achieve above average speeds when decelerating going into a corner for example. The maneuver must be done quickly and a massive amount of rotational energy is absorbed by the rotor which must be shed as quickly as possible to prepare for the next corner. Race cars need D&S rotors. Motorhomes - not so much. Personally, I don't feel the return for D&S rotors on my vehicle is there.

That said, I would not be opposed to anyone buying D&S rotors just as long as the buyer knows what their goals are. As you know I'm a Gadget Geek when it comes to motorhome after market equipment.

Those aren’t "gadgets" but are "necessities".
Does anyone know the price of "stock" rotors?

A earlier post here had the D&S after market rotor a little cheaper than what Workhorse was selling.

I wouldn't doubt it.

Call Brazel's or Redlands for a price on a rotor.

I bought 2 for the front from Hendersons. Ouch, ($278.00 each) I hope they will be worth it. Now I have to wait for the calipers to come out and then I will replace them at the same time. Almost gave up and bought a new 2008 HR Septer yesterday but they wanted too much for a 2 year old - "new" coach. Bank repo from a dealer that had been mauled over by lookers and parts were missing. Sure ran nice and had real brakes. I could have thrown the passengers and the fridge through the winshield if I slammed on the brakes. Could drive in the zoo traffic around Quartzsite with comfort.

That's great and I can also do it with my 2003 Winnebago that has 85,077 miles!

I used to be able to stop my W22 on a dime until I had the brakes worked on. Now it takes a few dollars and some change to stop her. They put Car Quest rotoes on it.

Those seem very expensive to me. I'm assuming what you bought are not stock Workhorse rotors. Will you please elaborate and tell us exactly what you bought and why you thought they are worth the price you paid? Thanks, ED
