Aftermarket vents to increase engine cooling

Has anyone tried to use the WH vents to increase engine cooling? We have never seen a major increase in our temp gauge, but at times in warm weather the cooling fans howl after every hill (we drive at 60 MPH) and the floor of the coach is very warm to touch and the heat in the storage bins is very noticeable. Our '03 Tiffin Allegro (gas) has very a small front grill opening and Tiffin has since enlarged it.

Hi! You won't be able to do much about heat soak in your compartments other than driving shorter distances each day during the cool of the early morning. You are hearing the main engine mounted fan spin up as the fan clutch senses an increase in heat rejected by the radiator during periods of heavy acceleration, hill climbing or high ambient air temperature such as found in the deserts. You can benefit most by tending to the proper attachment and fit of the rubber air dam you see mounted around your cool pack, which is visible when your front engine access cover, or hood if you prefer, is open. Air that enters the engine compartment without first going thru the cool pack actually impedes that flow of air produced by forward movement. Aftermarket cooling kits generally are for tough to solve spark plug wire cooling problems. Good luck!!
