I am trying to remove the air filter on W22 with 8.1L engine. I am sure this has been covered before but I did several searches and did not find specific instructions. I raised the front end a little and turned the wheel to the left. I can reach the filter box with no problem and unsnap the three metal clips on top. At that point I am stymied. The back or output side can't go up or down and looks like it won't go backward unless I remove the output air hose. The rest of the box doesn't want to move. I read in one of the posts that the top rotates forward but mine doesn't seem to want to. I am afraid of breaking something if I try to force it. I am sure this is simple but I just want to be careful. Can anyone give a newbie in need some simple instructions.

Thaniks

Jim

Once the three metal clips are released and out of the way, the back side of the enclosure must be pushed upward to lift the tabs (across the bottom) out of their sockets. Then the box will be open "enough" to R&R the filter.

Be sure to re-seat the tabs correctly before snapping the clips closed.

It makes it a lot easyer if you take the hose off the back of the cover.
